A new fund has been setup by Cambridge University. This scholarships fund is very similar to the one Oxford had setup in the past. It is designed to help students who are academically talented in most studies but concentrated on science and engineering. These scholarships for high school students will be given out to the best and the brightest from around the world. It is not just restricted to Britain and neighboring European countries.

The Cambridge fund will assist not only post graduates but, unlike Oxford, undergraduates who are unable to rely on parental contribution financially, overseas students who cannot afford the increased level of British university fees for foreigners, and British post-graduates who cannot gain Research Council funding or find the necessary subsistence costs.

This joint Oxbridge initiative may do something to maintain the levels of scientific study performance which have been under increasing threat from academic and financial pressures.

However, before you enroll in a specific college or university, you have to check first if the school is accredited by your State Board of Accountancy so the required one hundred and fifty semester hours will be acceptable to your state board.

This one hundred and fifty semester credits is on top of the Bachelor’s Degree and the semester hours in Accounting and Business subjects; and is generally a basic requirement for being eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA Exam.

In some states, an Associate Degree is acceptable already so check with the state you wish to be installed as a licensed CPA on whether a Bachelor’s Degree is required or if an Associate Degree will do.
