I managed to sign a contract with one of the best movers nyc has. They were patient enough to let me change the movement date to a Friday. Having the weekend free for unpacking seemed like a better idea than doing it on a Saturday. At first I was skeptic about the company but things changed as soon I read their contract and terms as they offered several extra services to show how they treat their customers. The insurance they offered covered all accidental damage during the manipulation and transportation of goods. The staff was very well trained and eager to help. They didn’t let me lift one box. The argument was that they prefer to secure the boxes themselves to make sure the goods are transported safely. That was a major plus. As per their claims, all their employees have clear criminal records and they have a 0% lost goods history. That can be considered a big plus. The most annoying part was packing everything. Unfortunately the movers could not help with that but they did provide some solid boxes and bags. It took almost an entire week to get everything ready. Every day after work I had to pack some of the goods to get everything ready by Friday. By Thursday I already had 4 big boxes of stuff that I did not want to take with me so I had to purge the items on some auction sites. Overall the movement went ok, the nyc movers were very responsive and the quality of service was more than satisfactory
